Finished skinning the Allosaurus and started posing it today. I didn't mind the skinning process; I thought it would be a nightmare but weight-painting was surprisingly relaxing! Big ups to Dave & Ian for helping me out with the rig - that would have sucked trying to remember that solo :)

3d model: Allo New Colour

I was asked to changed the colour... so viola! Colour changed. Finally got the displacement map working in maya... what a headache that turned out to be. Thankfully Matty was able to give me some life saving tips. Binge has also been a life saver on this little project of mine. Big ups to those boys :)

3D Sculpt: Allosaurus w/ Colour

This is a week or two down the track from the sculpts I posted earlier. I changed the proportions, focussing on musculature and polypainted the mesh in Zbrush. I will bake the normals, cavity map and diffuse texture from this and rig it up in maya. Fun times!

2D Concept Art: The Mayor

Character concept: This guy is the town mayor. The challenge for me was to keep his clothing archaic but give him a regal air. The final product was quite different to how it began. Based on feedback I was given, I exaggerated the proportions and gave him more expression. I drew a few other characters for this, so I will post them also!

This is an older piece. I illustrated this for one of my best mates, it was a 30th birthday present. I wanted to create something that could either be perceived as foreboding or beautiful.
